I guess we’re getting old choosing the farm life as a weekend getaway. Prado Farms is literally like a perfect retreat place with all the peace and sound of nature. It will give you the time to ponder on the boat loads of mistakes you’ve committed and regrets that still haunt you late at night. Just kidding. But seriously, the silence is refreshing and I can’t even remember the time I last heard the birds singing in the morning. Healthy for your mind and soul and also to your body as everything they serve is organic which is a break from a world full of artificials. The place is self sustained by its own harvest and organic animal farms; who needs to go to the supermarket anyways? The lack of television in the rooms just added to the overall great feel of a retreat and it is nice to escape all the buzz in the city.
Prado Farms was previously an LPG dealer before it was bought by Silverworks and turned it to this sweet place it is right now. It is located in Lubao which is the boundery of Pampanga and Bataan and a 2 hour travel from Manila. One distinguishing feature of the place is that its gate is made out of LPG tanks which is weird in a good way.
Before you can make a reservation, they would need to at least reach 12,500 total worth of reservations. We are the only guests they have as they have just generously allowed us to stay even a day after the big group of people just left which means they do not have the 12,500 amount. One of the staffs said that we are the king and queen of the place for this day which means we can have all the privacy we can get.
The design of the houses are traditional and they managed to maintain the look and feel of it through the years. They also have antique stuffs all over the place that takes you back to the good old days.
There are available bicycles that everyone may use for free if you want to tour the place in wheels. If you’re like us who doesn’t know how to ride a bike, this place is where we actually learned how to ride a bike.
They have this all organic dinner buffet you can avail for 450 and a 10% service charge and trust us, it is a must try. It changed our views on organic food as everything is just delectable and guilt free. We could go back here just for the food alone. The room accommodation (3,500/day for 2 pax) has free breakfast included and they have big meal servings. Really worth every penny and that we think we need to pay more than the actual price. The staffs are also ultra nice and amongst the most accommodating people we have met.
If you want to take a piece of Prado Farm with you, they have a souvenir store with the traditional furnitures, bikes, kitchenware, and display items all on sale.
Prado Farm is one of the places you would want to consider when you are finally retiring. We plan to go back here and bring our families for them to experience the good life that Prado Farms offers.
How to get there:
Take a Bataan Transit bus (150php/pax) going to Mariveles and ask the driver to drop you off at Pradera. Across Pradera, there is a Total gasoline station and Prado Farm is just a few meters away from there. It is just along the highway.
