Camp Netanya in Anilao, Batangas Review

Camp Netanya has once again opened its doors to give us the Santorini feels with their elegant and classy designs all over the place.

It is really a very appealing getaway from the metro since it is just located in Anilao, Batangas which is a 3-4 hour drive from Manila going through SLEX. The place is near the perfect dive spots in Anilao and you can make some quick sidetrips (e.g. Masasa Beach).

This will be an honest review of the resort based on our very own experience from our recent stay. The rates, contact details, how to get there on commute, and expenses, are down below should you want to skip.

What went well

1. Facilities

Upon reaching the front door, you will be warmly welcomed by the staffs and the inviting aroma all over the place. To add more vibe, they have refreshing welcome drinks for guests that is perfect after a long drive to the resort.

Since the whole place is newly renovated, everything looks fresh and clean and soothing to the eyes.

The place is adorned by everything Greek and classy designs. Their furnitures are well fitting to the elegance of the place.

The Pool Area is one of the best things about Camp Netanya. From the pool area, you will have a scenic view of the sea from their infinity pool and your eyes will feast on the beauty of the well designed architecture that the place is known for.

Overall, they did a very good job to give their guests the Santorini feels that they use to market the place. Plus points for having a play area for kids deeming it fit for all kinds of guests.

Kudos for being a romantic place perfect for prenup photos. Not actual prenup photos below:

2. Customer Service

The staffs of the resort are nothing short of being accommodating and warm. A beautiful place is nothing without its fair share of beautiful people.

From the time you come in, during our whole stay, and the time we left, they are always happy to help us. One guy even showed us a cool place we can take pictures of.

3. Accommodation

Again, everything is inspired by Santorini and their villas are proof of their dedication to provide an excellent experience for their guests.

The villas are pretty spacey and well ventilated with their luxurious toiletries and stuff.

Overnight accommodations comes with free kayak, snorkeling, and biking. They also have other activities that you can avail, like – Mt. pinagbanderahan climb and Sombrero and Oscar Islands tour.

Plus, we actually brought food and not charged for corkage fee. You can confirm their policy for outside food and drinks by contacting them.

What could be better

1. Reservation

Trying to reach out to the resort for inquiries is a bit of a challenge. It takes too long for them to respond to messages and sometimes they are completely unresponsive.

With the inquiries about rates, we were advised of different rates/conditions for extra bed. From our initial conversation, they said they allow additional beds for only 1,000 pesos and we confirmed it with them. However, when we reached out again to confirm the information, we were told that they DO NOT ALLOW additional beds in their villas (conflicting from what is in their website). This led us to upgrade our room on short notice and with a major change in our budget (P4,000 difference).

2. Backup Plan

During our stay, we got a letter from the management that there will be a power outage due to the road improvement by the government and that the whole resort will be powered by their generator during this period. We understand that this is something that might be beyond control, however, the generator only powered the reception area and not the villas so we had to just bear with it. A complimentary drink could have helped with the heat.

Currently, they are on soft opening but guests can still make room and day tour reservations. They will officially open this April 2017. We hope that by that time, some of the concerns about the place will get fixed.

How to get to Camp Netanya via commute:

3. Take a jeepney going to Mabini and alight at Anilao Port (P40/pax)

4. Ride a tricycle to Camp Netanya (P120-150/3 pax. May vary depending on your agreement with the driver)
